“Permeable Paving & Natural Stone in Green Sustainable Design”

 

The Connecticut Chapter of ASLA announces a continuing education program for landscape architects, architects, engineers, developers, town officials and others interested in sustainable hardscapes.

This program will include the following presentations:

Unilock will discuss Permeable Paving, inspiring participants to make permeable interlocking concrete pavers the first choice for sustainable stormwater solutions. Permeable pavers are a recommended Best Management Practice under the EPA’s NPDES requirements and are a recommended construction practice under Low Impact Development and LEED guidelines.

Champlain Stone, Ltd. will discuss the inherent environmental advantages of natural stone and explore design considerations that are consistent with environmental elements and nature. The presentation will discuss how stone
makes an appropriate, attractive and natural material design choice that will contribute to a sustainable solution and withstand the test of time.

Program registered with AIA-CES and LACES. Subject material and program format appropriate for four Learning Units (HSW) for Connecticut- and New York-licensed landscape architects.
